The Central Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Council (GAC) focuses on engaging with government entities to shape public policy and advocate for the Chamber and its members' interests. With knowledge of legislative processes, regulatory environments, and political landscapes, the GAC will work to monitor proposed legislation, regulations, and government actions that could impact the Chamber or its members' operations or objectives. The primary functions of the GAC include analyzing policy proposals, developing advocacy strategies, and representing the Chamber and its members' positions to policymakers and government officials at the local, regional, national, and sometimes international levels. By engaging in government affairs activities, the GAC will help to shape the regulatory and legislative environment in ways that support the Chamber's goals, protect its members' interests, and promote their long-term success.
