The Brandon Riverview Chamber of Commerce Government and Economic Affairs Council (GEAC) focuses on engaging with government entities to shape public policy and advocate for the Chamber and its members' interests. With knowledge of legislative processes, regulatory environments, and political landscapes, the GEAC will work to monitor proposed legislation, regulations, and government actions that could impact the Chamber or its members' operations or objectives. The GEAC works toward fostering economic growth, prosperity, and sustainability. The Council collaborates to identify opportunities and address challenges related to economic development. Its responsibilities include conducting research and analysis to assess the local economic landscape, identifying key industries or sectors for growth, developing strategies to attract investment and business development, and advocating for policies that support economic vitality and the Chamber. The Council also plays a pivotal role in implementing initiatives aimed at job creation, workforce development, infrastructure enhancement, and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. . By engaging in government affairs activities, the GEAC will help to shape the regulatory and legislative environment in ways that support the Chamber's goals, protect its members' interests, and promote their long-term success.
